內容簡介:
Product innovation has long been recognized as an important business activity for firms to remain competitive. At the same time, international market expansions have been suggested to improve firm performance. Building on these two main research perspectives in the literature, this study proposes and tests a series of hypotheses pertaining to the performance and process implications of developing new products for global markets. The results of an empirical study indicated that developing new products for global markets is positively related to different dimensions of new product performance. They further suggested that compared to developing new products for local markets, developing new products for global markets requires relatively different organizational structures, new product development processes, activities, and timeframes.
